1) SOLar project coordinator, OFFICE 

Solar Division:

A Solar Project Coordinator is needed to work in our Lawrence, KS office in a fast-paced, positive, inclusive, and supporting environment to coordinate work between our staff, local building authorities, utilities, subcontractors, and our clients.

From our pleasant downtown Lawrence, KS office, our energy division, Cromwell Solar, conducts residential and commercial installations of solar, battery, generator, car chargers, and various modern electrical services. We currently have an opening for an administrative project coordinator to facilitate smooth running projects and happy clients.

Job Description

The Project Coordinator position is a fast paced office job (no field work, no travel) requiring extremely good communication, multi-tasking, and organizational skills. You will routinely be working on dozens of solar/electrical projects in various states of completion simultaneously, all with very tight timelines for completion and with clients needing to be constantly kept informed of the progress on their project.

As a communicator with our clients for Cromwell Environmental, a firm priding itself on our technical abilities, our project coordinators are expected to be extremely professional and to (AFTER training) possess and convey expertise in solar, electrical, and construction issues occurring in buildings.

Responsibilities

• Answering and routing client calls and emails re: ongoing projects and Operations and Maintenance
• Providing clients with weekly updates regarding the status of their projects
• Researching utility and “Authority Having Jurisdiction” (AHJ) requirements for the work to be performed
• Processing solar interconnection applications and associated documents for various utilities
• Processing permit applications and associated documents for various AHJs
• Processing & maintaining business and contractor license applications and documents for various AHJs
      - Acquiring bonds for some licenses and projects
• Working with installations manager/scheduling team to coordinate installation schedule
      - Connecting with subcontractors to coordinate their work
• Communicating scheduling of installations/miscellaneous work with clients
• Coordinating AHJ and utility inspections to close out permits and ensuring we receive permission to operate.
• Submitting project documentation to clients' financing companies
• Submitting warranty registrations and claims for panels and inverters which require registration to activate their warranty
• Ensuring Client Information and all required documentation has been obtained and filed
• Assisting with various administrative tasks as needed (Applying for Top Solar Contractors, signing up for National Solar Tour, REAP post-installation documents, gathering NABCEP documents, etc..)
• General Customer Service and Data Entry and filing

Requirements

Previous office experience

Very good computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel

Four-year college degree preferred

Electrical, Solar, or Construction background or experience helpful

Knowledge of Electrical/Solar/Construction issues preferred

Expert multitasking ability and experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Amazing customer service skills

Technical and professional writing proficiency

Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.

The administrative project manager position is a very fast paced job with extremely good multitasking skills required. Routinely they will be working on 50+ environmental testing projects in various states of completion simultaneously all with extremely short timelines for completion — all while answering phones in a front office type setting .

Responsibilities

Answer multi-line phone system

Receive project orders from clients

Build online and physical folders per project

Find subcontractors via database or internet search to perform testing

Negotiate price and time line with subcontractors

Manage subcontractors’ performance — ensuring on-time project completions

Write environmental reports compiling lab data and project information

Send reports via email to clients

Prepare internal reports on volume, average price and time to completion for projects

Order and maintain office supplies

Requirements

3) SOLAR INSTALLER

Job Description

Cromwell Solar’s Installers work within a small team to install commercial and residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. They provide support to and follow the directions of the Crew Leader to safely, professionally and quickly install all aspects of the PV system (panels, rack, wiring, inverters, etc). 

This is a position with an eye towards professional development. We want to build careers here at Cromwell. Solar installation training is provided and multiple paths for advancement within our firm are available including: installation crew leader, solar CAD designer, certified electrician, solar sales, energy auditor/retrofitter, indoor air quality consulting, and more. As the public face of Cromwell Solar, a firm priding itself on our technical abilities, our Installers are expected to be professional and to obtain and be able to convey their expertise in solar energy systems.

Responsibilities

Receiving delivery and checking inventory for each project

Layout and assembly of solar panels and racking hardware

Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment

Electrical wiring (AC and DC)

Document completion of completed installation

Clean up of job site

Attend training sessions on new products, installation methodology and safety

Additional duties required as needed

4) Mold Remediation- CREW LEADER

Job Description

A great opportunity to develop management experience and learn new skills, Cromwell Environmental's Mold Remediation Crew Leaders are trained to work independently managing a small team to perform mold remediations (cleanup) on homes across the US. This is a position that requires significant overnight travel (approx 20 days/month). Company truck provided. Generous travel allowance for overnight stays adds an additional $1200 a month (tax free) to the $40-50k salary (to start).

Crew Leaders are in charge of safely, professionally, and quickly performing mold remediation actions on a property to make it once again safe to live within. Their efforts improve the health of building occupants and allow unusable properties to once again be used.

Paid training is provided and no experience in mold remediation is necessary, but some construction experience and aptitude is important as is a clean driver’s license and an ability to travel.

This is a traveling position based from where you live as our office is in Lawrence, KS (right in the middle of the USA) and we have projects all across the USA for our corporate clients. You are likely to be 10 days out of town working, followed by 4 days off at home.

We want to build careers here at Cromwell. Training is provided and multiple paths for advancement within our firm are available (we are growing!).

Responsibilities

Communicate daily with Environmental Division Manager

Drive Cromwell Environmental work truck (provided) to work site

Carefully follow scope of work to remediate mold

Remove and dispose of mold contaminated building materials

Independently manage 1-4 local workers to complete work

Take before, during, and after photos of projects

Perform air-quality tests

Send via email and FedEx, photos and samples to home office

Additional duties required as needed

Requirements

Ability/willingness to travel and work out of town

Out of town working for 10 days in a row, off at home for 4

Construction experience or aptitude

Must be able to routinely lift 50lbs

5) JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN

Job Description

Cromwell Solar’s Journeymen work under the supervision of the Head of AC Electrical Services, an experienced Master Electrician, to safely, professionally and quickly install backup generators and the AC components of commercial and residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems as well as other electrical projects, particularly those related to load management and increased efficiency. Journeymen supervise other electrical staff to ensure that all codes are met and that the highest levels of craftsmanship are employed in every project.

This is a position with an eye towards professional development; we want to build careers here at Cromwell. Training is provided and as our firm is growing, advancement possibilities exist. As the public face of Cromwell Solar, a firm priding itself on our technical abilities, our electricians are expected to be professional and to obtain and be able to convey their expertise in solar energy systems.

Responsibilities

Reading blueprints and ensuring all plans are within code

Supervising electrical technicians

Receiving delivery and checking inventory for each project
